Is it rude to ask someone out over text?
It is never rude to ask someone out over a text message. As a matter of fact, it is okay to ask a friend out over text since you’ve both known each other for a while. It can be dicey if you are just getting to know this person or you’ve had contact a couple of times.
Text messaging can be an effective tool in asking someone on a date depending on how you use it and the kind of messages you send.
That said, it can come out as rude sending a text message to someone you barely know or have just met a couple of times but she doesn’t have your contact on her phone.
It is also important that the person you are texting has your phone number and is comfortable with you texting her so that you don’t come out as being a stalker or awkward.
If the person is an acquaintance and you have a bit of information about this person, armed with this information, you can craft wonderful text messages that can get the person to want to go out with you.
It is only rude when we don’t respect a person’s privacy or understand their need to be left alone.
This can make the person block your number entirely to prevent further calls or text messaging.
Ensure that you are not making this person uncomfortable with your text messages especially if you are just getting to know each other.
